  1. Visit the official website and click on “Apply for Roof-Top Solar” to start the registration process.
  2. After registering and logging in, fill out the online form, select your state and electricity distribution company, and enter your consumer account number from your electricity bill.
  3. Verify your mobile number by entering the OTP received, and complete the online form for “Apply for Solar Rooftop Installation.”
  4. The process involves seven steps, including applying for solar rooftop installation.

Complete Procedure for Installing Rooftop Solar Plant through PM Suryoday Yojana 2024

Follow these steps for the complete installation procedure:

Registration: Register at the National Portal and submit the required application form.

Apply for Rooftop Solar: Upon Technical Feasibility Approval (TFR), sign an agreement with the selected vendor and proceed with the installation work.

Technical Feasibility Approval/TFR: The submitted application will be reviewed by the concerned DISCOM authority to approve/reject the TFR application.

Install & Submit Details Online: After installation, submit installation details and photo/video proof along with a joint inspection report online.

Inspection by DISCOM: DISCOM officials will inspect the system in accordance with MNRE criteria.

Project Commissioning Status: Once the net-meter is installed, the DISCOM official will approve the installation details on the portal and generate an online commissioning certificate.

Subsidy/CFA Request: After commissioning, the applicant can request an online subsidy or CFA by providing bank details and a clear copy of a canceled check or passbook. The Central Government will release the subsidy directly into the applicant’s bank account within 30 days upon successful completion.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  • Use your own mobile number and email address to register on the National Portal.
  • Ensure the electricity connection and bank account are in the applicant’s name to avoid rejection.

Applicability: The above-mentioned subsidy would be applicable for all subsidy claims submitted on the National Portal on or after 05.01.2024.

Mandatory Conditions: Only indigenously manufactured solar panels/modules shall be used for installation of the rooftop solar plant, and the consumer should obtain certification from the vendor confirming this.

Calculation of CFA/subsidy: The CFA/subsidy would be calculated based on the total solar module capacity/solar inverter capacity/capacity approved by DISCOM, whichever is lower.

Disclaimer: Mere submission of claims on the National Portal would not entitle an applicant to receive CFA/subsidy. Compliance with the complete process and guidelines issued by MNRE is mandatory to avail CFA subsidy.
