Procedure to Install Rooftop Solar Plant under PM Suryoday Yojana 2024: Upon TFR approval, an agreement must be signed with the selected registered vendor before proceeding with the installation of the solar plant. The list of approved vendors can be viewed in the ‘vendors in my area’ section of the applicant’s account on the National Portal.

Following the installation of the plant, it is imperative to submit the installation details on the National Portal and upload a photo of the applicant with the plant. These details are essential for the inspection and net-metering of the plant.

Registration and Application Process

After successful registration, the next step involves applying for rooftop solar installation. The applicant needs to follow the instructions detailed on the portal for a seamless registration process.

Inspection and Approval

DISCOM officials will conduct an inspection of the system in compliance with the technical criteria specified by MNRE. Upon a successful inspection, the net-meter will be installed by the DISCOM. Once the net-meter is in place, the DISCOM official will approve the installation details on the portal, and an online commissioning certificate will be generated, accessible from the applicant’s account.

Subsidy Claim Process

Once the commissioning certificate is generated, the applicant can proceed to raise an online subsidy/CFA claim request by providing their bank details along with a clear copy of a cancelled bank cheque or passbook. Following the submission of the claim, if all details are accurate, the Central Government subsidy/CFA will be directly released into the applicant’s bank account within 30 days.

Technical Feasibility Approval

The submitted application will undergo a technical feasibility approval process by the concerned DISCOM. If all provided details are correct, the application will be approved. In the event of discrepancies, the application may be declined or returned for corrections. It is essential to ensure the accuracy of all details as per the requirements to prevent rejection or delays in the approval process.

Applicability: The above-mentioned subsidy would be applicable for all subsidy claims submitted on the National Portal on or after 05.01.2024.

Mandatory Conditions: Only indigenously manufactured solar panels/modules (both solar cells and modules shall be made in India) shall be used for installation of the rooftop solar plant. Consumer shall obtain a certification in this regard from the vendor.

Calculation of CFA/subsidy: The CFA/subsidy would be calculated on the basis of total solar module capacity/solar inverter capacity/capacity approved by DISCOM, whichever is lower.

Disclaimer: Mere submission of claims on the National Portal would not entitle an applicant to receive CFA/subsidy. The compliance of complete process/guidelines issued by MNRE is mandatory to avail CFA subsidy.

Step – 1

Registration: Register at National Portal through https://solarrooftop.gov.in on the link for registration.

After registration, login into your account and click submit application form and submit required in the format mentioned in the application.

If all details are found correct

Step – 2

Apply for Rooftop Solar: Upon TFR approval, sign agreement with selected vendor and proceed for installation work. The list of registered vendors is available in ‘vendors’ menu at ‘SR’ tab in applicant’s account on National Portal.

Technical Feasibility Approval/TFR: The submitted application will be reviewed by concerned DISCOM authority to approve/reject TFR application. If all details will be correct, then technical feasibility approval file would be approved else rejected or returned for correction.

Install & Submit Details Online: After installation of plant, submit installation detail in national portal uploads photo/ video proof along with joint inspection report online.

These details are required for project commissioning status updating on national portal.

Step – 5

Inspection by DISCOM: DISCOM officials will inspect system accordance with MNRE criteria prescribed by agency upon successful inspection net-meter would be installed by DISCOM

Step – 6

Project Commissioning Status: Once the net-meter is installed, the DISCOM official will approve the installation details on the portal and generate an online commissioning certificate. This certificate will be visible in the applicant’s account.

Step – 7

Subsidy/CFA Request: After getting the commissioning certificate, the applicant can request an online subsidy or CFA by giving their bank details and a clear copy of a canceled check or passbook.

If all details found correct

Complete

Subsidy Released: If all the information is correct, the Central Government will deposit the subsidy or financial assistance directly into the applicant’s bank account within 30 days of submitting the claim.

Important Instruction

  1. The applicant must use their own mobile number and email address to register on the National Portal. Applications with the vendor’s email address or mobile number will be rejected, and the vendors will be blacklisted from participating in the program/scheme.
  2. It should also be guaranteed that the electricity connection and bank account are in the applicant’s name, or else the application will be rejected.
