• Age Proof: A document establishing the applicant’s age, such as a birth certificate or school leaving certificate.
• Caste Certificate: For applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST), a caste certificate is mandatory.
• Bank Account Details: Bank account details (account number and IFSC code) for receiving the scholarship amount.
• Passport-sized Photographs: A couple of recent passport-sized photographs of the applicant.

The Bihar Mukyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojna (Chief Minister’s Girl Development Scheme) is aimed at encouraging the registration of girl child births and empowering daughters.

Under this scheme, the birth rate of girls is promoted, vaccinations for girls are provided, assistance is given to reduce child mortality rate, and encouragement is given for their education.

The goal of the scheme includes:

• Complete vaccination for girls up to 2 years.

The management of the scheme’s funds is overseen by the state government. The Social Welfare Directorate will provide funds to the District Child Protection Unit, which will then transfer the amount to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries’ parents or guardians.

Benefits:

• Applicable to girls born after the notification date.
• Only two girls per Bihar resident family are eligible.
• Applicable to Bihar residents.

Nature of the Grant: A sum of Rs. 2,000 will be transferred to the parents/guardians of each girl child aged 0 to 1 year. Upon completion of one year after Aadhar registration, an additional amount of Rs. 1,000 will be due to the same account.

Eligibility:

• The girls should be residents of Bihar.
• Birth should be properly registered.
• The benefit will be applicable to girls born after the notification date.
• This benefit will be given to only two girls per family from the date of application: Rs 2,000 for the first child, and once the second child is 1-2 years old, the parents/guardians will receive Rs 1,000, after fulfilling all the specified conditions.

Application Process:

Application forms for availing the benefits of this scheme will be available at all Anganwadi centers for child development projects.

The application form for this scheme will be made available free of charge by the Anganwadi workers of all Anganwadi centers.

For availing the benefits of this scheme, the applicant will have to submit the filled application in the prescribed format along with all the necessary documents to the respective Anganwadi centers.

The Bal Vikas Project Officers will be the authorization officers for this purpose.

The authorized officers will register the duly filled application forms and provide the allotted amounts to the beneficiaries’ parents/guardians through the Assistant Director, District Child Protection Unit.

The office of the Assistant Director, District Child Protection Unit, will compile the list of applications and transfer the allocated amount to the accounts of the eligible beneficiaries’ parents/guardians.
