Shreyas was born on 6 December 1994 in Mumbai. Shreyas Iyer’s father’s name is Santosh Iyer. Despite being a businessman, Santosh used to take out time for Shreyas from his busy schedule. Actually, his father has an important contribution in making Shreyas’s career, Santosh used to maintain contact with all the coaches of Shreyas.

Shreyas’ mother Rohini Iyer also always encouraged Shreyas to pursue a career in cricket. Shreyas’s sister Shrestha Iyer is pursuing a career in psychology.

Shreyas Iyer’s trend has been towards cricket since the beginning. When Iyer was 4 years old, his father used to bowl for him while playing with him at home and only then Santosh realized that there was immense cricketing talent hidden in him after seeing the aggression in Shreyas’s batting.

Shreyas also won many awards during his college days. Shreyas did his further studies from Ri-e-Poddar College of Commerce and Economics and won the Best Player of the Year title twice in a row. Due to his good batting, he also got a chance to play inter college cricket tournament for Poddar.
